We edited these photos on a website called picnik.  We tried to make them as creepy as possible in the spirit of Halloween.  We had our subjects dress up in masks and costumes, then we uploaded them to picnick.  They gave us different options to edit them, the background, lighting, stains and colors on their faces were all tweaks made on the website.

For this assignment we took photos of small characters, we had the choice to work with knights, animals, or army men, i worked with all three.  the first three photos are story photos it tells the story of an army man trying to sneak up on an enemy troupe, but then he gets caught. the last two photos were taken so that the closer figure would  be blurry and the one farther away would be in more of a focus.

1st Draft

For these photos we prepared for taking them by watching a documentary about Avedon.  He was a photographer who took pictures of people and tried to find the realness by having them not pose for the camera and he always had a white back round, he didn't want glamour he just wanted the person, he wanted to see who they really were and he wanted to capture that in his image.  This is what he based this batch of photos on.
When we went looking for these photos we were focusing on depth. We wanted to find leading lines, repetition, and scenes with something in the foreground and something int eh background.  these pictures were fun to take and find, and some of the scenery could be manipulated to make the photo into a foreground background photo.
