Rule of Thirds

For this photo project we used a new technique.  The idea of the project was to use a grid with three lines going horizontally accross and vertically down.  The grid was for the placement of the subject of the picture were taking.  We would place our subject in the crossing points in the corner most desired making sure it was in the crossing point.  In these photos that is what was trying to be accomplished.

  1. The third photograph from the top showcases the rule of thirds the best. It is a really great photograph. The rest are also good, but that one just stood out for me. I like the divisions you made, especially the ones in the art room. Great JOB!!!!

  2. I love your series showcasing the Rule of Thirds! You have a wide variety of subjects and textures that are positioned right in the corner of a part of the imaginary grid. It looks like you really understand what this project was about and you did a really good job representing it.

  3. Your 3rd and 4th one are so different yet the strongest of the series in my opinion. I like how you use a silhouette to demonstrate the rule of thirds, very outside the box thinking! The one of the sewing string is visually appealing and works measurement wise side ways and up and down! The first two and the last are a little too cluttered for me. Maybe against a plain background?

  4. Excellent work, Keely! Your images (especially the first 5), show the composition idea well. You make use of beautiful lighting, and the overall surface quality and mood of the series is elegant. The shadow in the doorway is a unique solution that evokes mystery and story.

  5. I really like how you used angles in this series, it really made the photos more interesting to look at. I also like the ways in which you used people in your photographs, especially the shadow in the doorway.

  6. These are really strong pictures. I felt like you captured rule of thirds in all of your pictures. My favorite picture is the 4th picture and I thought it was really cool how you used color in the picture as well. Great Job
